Saddle Box review

I was contacted last week by Saddle Box's owner, Phil, who asked if I would review the product on my blog.  I am happy to do so!  All my opinions are my own and I am in no way sponsored by or affiliated with Saddle Box.
Saddle Box is a monthly subscription box full of equine related goodies for both rider and horse!  It can contain items such as treats, grooming tools, books, and small tack.  It seems there are a lot of these surprise monthly subscription boxes in a variety of styles these days, and it was only a matter of time until one was made especially for horse folks!

The first box has a 15% off coupon, so it costs $29.71 the first month and $34.95 each month thereafter which includes shipping.  They do ship to Canada for an extra $10 shipping. You can buy a Saddle Box for yourself or give it as a gift.  Once you sign up, it will automatically renew (and charge your credit card) every month unless you indicate for no box that month. There are no returns unless you receive a…

Green Acres Horse Trials - August 31, 2013

Dreamy and I had a great day at the Green Acres Horse Trial back in August.  This is one of my favorite places to event.  In 2012 when we first moved up to Beginner Novice, we had some bad luck on the cross country course at one of the GA events (refusal on the LAST DAMN FENCE!  Ahhh!  I left my mare down and forgot to ride the entire course!) and then the next event Dreamy pulled a three-day-old front shoe from slipping on the grassy stadium course.  I was sort of leery about showing there this year, as I really like the event but worry about "bad luck".  Haha.
I should not have been worried.  After a season of fox hunting over monstrous natural fences and just really upping our game this year, this event was a great success.  Plus, we had just returned from our week with Denny, so our confidence as a team was very high.  We had one of our best dressage tests, even scoring a FREAKING NINE on our free walk (HELL YEAH!).
Super Mare is adorable.  I look like a deranged monkey…

Camp Denny 2013

Dreamy and I were lucky enough to attend adult event camp at Denny and May Emerson's Tamarack Hill Farm in Strafford, VT this past August 19-23, 2013.  It was an amazing experience that I have always hoped to try one day.  I sent in my application in February, praying that I would get in and praying that I would be able to save my money to pay for it all!  LOL!  It was expensive but so worth it!

MONDAY - Day ONE
I left on Monday around lunch time.  It was a pretty straightforward two and a half hour drive to VT, almost directly across the state of NH and just over the Vermont boarder.

When I arrived, I pulled into the driveway and stopped when I saw a girl come running over to tell me where the park.  OMG it's Daryl!!!  I laughed to myself when I realized that meeting Daryl Kinney, Tamarack's barn manager, was like meeting a famous person.  LOL!  Denny posts about her on his Facebook page all the time and she has a position to literally die for.  She has obviously worked har…
