Hidden Brook Farm Dressage Schooling Show - June 2, 2019

Ellie and I did a show at our lesson barn this past weekend instead of taking a lesson.  I would have done a lesson on Saturday before the show, but my instructor went to NEDA Spring with her eldest daughter, who was able to get her last Grand Prix score for her USDF Gold Medal!!!  So that is a good reason to not be able to lesson haha.

I admit I was a little bummed about our low scores at the SMDA show two weeks prior.  I know a score of 6 (60%) is called satisfactory, but I really thought our performance was better than a low 60%.
I was determined to ride well and even though Beth was not there, I had her youngest daughter as my back up if the wheels fell off the bus LOL!  She was already in the warmup and at the show ring with her actual students, so it was nice to have her there to remind me to breathe and not hang on the left rein!  ;-)
Ellie unloaded and was totally calm.  Honestly, she loves her lesson barn and knows it is her second home haha.  She was much calmer tied to the tra…

Catch up time!

Oh, I have been a bad blogger!  Two months is a long time!  How often I think that ought to go on my blog and then life happens, and well......here we are!  :-)

Instead of a long boring post, how about a mess of photos to show you what we have been up to!  :-)

Snappy has been jogging...

I've done some cleaning and organizing in my tack room!  Believe it or not, I sold a bunch of saddle pads and my show pads are in another trunk!  LOL!  Yes, I have a problem...

We now have a jog cart for Snappy...

Clarence has done a little riding (here on Dreamy)...
We are working on those heels!

Sparky is looking fantastic for 31 years old this year!

Snappy has finally decided to accept Nose Kisses.

Maybe because she likes her new saddle pad???  LOL!

Macky the barn cat has been doing what he does best...

Dreamy has been to two open hunter shows so far...

And we went to a team penning clinic again!

The trees have finally grown leaves, the lawn is green, and I would say spring is finally here!  Snappy sprouted dapples, too!

  1. I'm a bad blogger too....as I love reading everyone else's blogs rather than writing on my own. I think of stuff to write about all the time.....and then I don't write about it :-/.
I love the photos. Sparky looks awesome! Seeing photos like that gives me hope that I will have several more precious years with my Griffin (he's 25 this year). My fingers are crossed that the money gods will shine on me next year when the car is paid and I can adopt another wonderful Standie :-). I love your saddle pad collection......I have a brush & grooming tool collection just like it :-)
