Wentworth Hunter Pace - June 6, 2021

After Margaret and I had such a fun time at the fall hunter pace, we opted to go again this spring! This time, while I rode Rejoice again, Margaret rode her horse Jester and had a friend ride Ladyhawke. All Kennebec Morgans!! Jester and Rejoice have the same dam and Jester and Lady share the same sire. Unfortunately instead of a lovely late spring day, we had one of the first intensely hot and humid days of the year. It was definitely a bummer, but the ride was mostly in the shade of the woods and we had a great time!  most of the fences were 3' coops but we found a small log and this hay to jump haha Until we didn't. 😑 We brought along a third friend who rode Margaret's older mare, Ladyhawke. She's a good rider but hasn't known Ladyhawke for very long and didn't realize how much of a cranky boss mare she could be at times. She kicked Jester right in the front leg just about halfway through the ride, and while the cut itself ended up not being a big deal in the

Decorating with an equestrian flair

Having a brand new home to decorate was equal parts exciting and overwhelming.  I tried to incorporate small horsey touches without making my home look like my bedroom at 12 years old LOL!  I thought I would share a few ideas today, as it is freezing cold here in the Northeast and there is not much going on with the horses besides feeding and cleaning out!

I love this little horse, as it reminds me of a (Standardbred) trotter!  It hangs in my kitchen.  I changed the ribbon to match the accent color.

I have had this print since college, because it looked like Sparky (even the same saddle I had at the time).  Now it is in my dining room.

My papercut made by Niamh and a pastel drawing of Sparky from my parents the first Christmas I owned her!  This is our office.

Horsey pillows, of course!  Way too pricey, but I have coveted these forever!

Saw it on Pinterest, of course!  LOL!  I painted old horseshoes from Sparky and Dreamy.

My sister-in-law made this for me a few Christmases ago.

Funny story to this one.  Four years ago, I entered a Facebook contest to name this print and my suggestion won!  Therefore I won this gorgeous piece of artwork!  It hangs in my living room.
It showed up on my Facebook memories today, which is what made me think of it!  LOL!
This is my wee one at 13 days old.  Another Pinterest idea!  He peed on my saddle during this photoshoot.  LOL!

Two foxhunting prints in the master bathroom.  Found these for a steal on eBay!

Horsey touches in the master bathroom.  I found these at two different antique stores.  (The small white dish on the left is from Target, and the two wooden boxes were my grandmother's.)
Framed photo of our racing under saddle race (we won!) and a drawing of Sparky from a coworker for our secret Santa a few years ago.  This is the master bedroom.

Artsy photo of Dreamy years ago at a dressage show, plus a few little horsey knick knacks from my childhood.

Two little fox lamps in the master bedroom to go with the foxhunting theme.
