NEJA Winter Schooling Jumper Show - April 25, 2021

Our final NEJA show in their winter series was at the end of April. On a whim, I decided to kick it old school and wear my rust breeches and navy coat. I definitely got a few "looks" from some of the HJ crowd, but it was worth being the weirdo eventer girl haha. It was a gorgeous spring day and our rounds were all excellent. Rejoice really seems to enjoy her newfound jumper pony status and powered around like she knew what she was doing haha.  My goals for the day were to win the ground poles speed class by taking a sneaky route someone's trainer would not approve of again haha like I did at the March show and to remember my jump off round like I did NOT do at the March show! Though there wasn't a super sneaky route to take in the ground poles class, I made sure to set her up for tight turns and rollbacks. We did win the class out of nine riders! Whoot! Our speed cross rails was also a good class, with Rejoice willing to listen to half halts, turn on a dime, and also

Green Acres Horse Trials - August 31, 2013

Dreamy and I had a great day at the Green Acres Horse Trial back in August.  This is one of my favorite places to event.  In 2012 when we first moved up to Beginner Novice, we had some bad luck on the cross country course at one of the GA events (refusal on the LAST DAMN FENCE!  Ahhh!  I left my mare down and forgot to ride the entire course!) and then the next event Dreamy pulled a three-day-old front shoe from slipping on the grassy stadium course.  I was sort of leery about showing there this year, as I really like the event but worry about "bad luck".  Haha. I should not have been worried.  After a season of fox hunting over monstrous natural fences and just really upping our game this year, this event was a great success.  Plus, we had just returned from our week with Denny, so our confidence as a team was very high.  We had one of our best dressage tests, even scoring a FREAKING NINE on our free walk (HELL YEAH!). Awesome test!  And yes, spoiler alert: we plac

Camp Denny 2013

Dreamy and I were lucky enough to attend adult event camp at Denny and May Emerson's Tamarack Hill Farm in Strafford, VT this past August 19-23, 2013.  It was an amazing experience that I have always hoped to try one day.  I sent in my application in February, praying that I would get in and praying that I would be able to save my money to pay for it all!  LOL!  It was expensive but so worth it! MONDAY - Day ONE I left on Monday around lunch time.  It was a pretty straightforward two and a half hour drive to VT, almost directly across the state of NH and just over the Vermont boarder.  Yup, we are in Vermont!   When I arrived, I pulled into the driveway and stopped when I saw a girl come running over to tell me where the park.   OMG it's Daryl!!!  I laughed to myself when I realized that meeting Daryl Kinney, Tamarack's barn manager, was like meeting a famous person.  LOL!  Denny posts about her on his Facebook page all the time and she has a position to literally
