After Margaret and I had such a fun time at the fall hunter pace, we opted to go again this spring! This time, while I rode Rejoice again, Margaret rode her horse Jester and had a friend ride Ladyhawke. All Kennebec Morgans!! Jester and Rejoice have the same dam and Jester and Lady share the same sire. Unfortunately instead of a lovely late spring day, we had one of the first intensely hot and humid days of the year. It was definitely a bummer, but the ride was mostly in the shade of the woods and we had a great time! most of the fences were 3' coops but we found a small log and this hay to jump haha Until we didn't. 😑 We brought along a third friend who rode Margaret's older mare, Ladyhawke. She's a good rider but hasn't known Ladyhawke for very long and didn't realize how much of a cranky boss mare she could be at times. She kicked Jester right in the front leg just about halfway through the ride, and while the cut itself ended up not being a big deal in the
There are several random things I have to write about and none warrant their own post, so this is going to be all over the place haha. You know, kinda like my brain on a normal day!
First, update on my Tough 1 Hay Hoop Slow Feeder. As I wrote about, my only minor complaint was fitting the amount of hay I wanted to into the net. I am happy to report the new, larger net is perfect and SOO much easier to fill.
Not only did I spring for Ellie's USEA horse registration, I also did her USDF lifetime. Someday she will be ready for recognized competitions!
Dreamy is looking really great this year as we come into spring. She wintered well despite the prolonged frigid temps and I am really happy with how she is doing. She still lopes around her pasture and bosses us all around, so I know she is feeling good. It is really hard for me to believe she will be 28 this year and this is the fifteenth year I have owned her.
I bought this gorgeous coat with a bit of my Christmas money because OMG TEAL. Hahaha I need another show coat like a hole in the head. But I have been resisting for over a year, so I figured if I still am lusting over it, I might as well own it! ;-) Do you have this yet, Leah? Because I feel like you need it too!
Also, finally bought these socks hahahaha (after being reminded I needed them by L.Williams).
It is currently snowing like crazy and my weather app is saying 5-8". Sigh. We are all stuck in the house and I am trying to remind myself spring is coming! Back to the daily grind tomorrow, as this is the last day of February vacation and school resumes tomorrow. Happy Sunday!

It's really hard to get a good pic of a nosy mare LOL |

These make me laugh every time I look at them! |
Oooh... that jacket is so pretty. I have those socks and they're my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI don't even need a jacket but it is too pretty to not have LOL! I love how many of us have these socks!
DeleteI love that everyone has those socks! I was given them as a passive-aggressive gift from an old roommate, but I adore them. That jacket is bright! Pretty color though!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely must-have socks! And yes, so bright, but will look great in stadium haha! ;-)
DeleteI do not have that coat but I FUCKING NEED IT 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
ReplyDeleteYES, YES YOU DO!
DeleteAlso tell me about how it fits. Especially compared to the Annie's, since we both have those 😂
ReplyDeleteI definitely will! You are totally getting it whether you know it yet or not LOL!!
DeleteThat jacket is really sharp. 8” more?! Ugh. Stay warm inside. Spring is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and it is wet, heavy snow. Ah well. ;-)
DeleteThat jacket is lovely!! Definitely a great color to usher in spring..... Now if only spring would cooperate! I'm glad we don't have any snow here now, but 5-8" of mud sounds about right.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha yeah the mud is going to be gross here once everything finally melts.
DeleteAhahaha, those socks are embodying how I feel this Monday morning.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha right?!?!
Deletenot more snow!! POOR YOU! that coat is gorgeous and will look stunning on Ellie!! IF spring ever comes. I like the socks too and glad Dreamy is doing well!! YAY! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, more snow! And more coming Friday! At least most of what we got on Sunday is gone by now because the temps have been nice and the sun is out. I think the coat will be great on Ellie, too! So now if people don't only remember us because of a silly baby moment at a show, they will definitely remember my coat lol!!
DeleteThat jacket is a lovely color!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am way too excited about it!
