Wentworth Hunter Pace - June 6, 2021

After Margaret and I had such a fun time at the fall hunter pace, we opted to go again this spring! This time, while I rode Rejoice again, Margaret rode her horse Jester and had a friend ride Ladyhawke. All Kennebec Morgans!! Jester and Rejoice have the same dam and Jester and Lady share the same sire. Unfortunately instead of a lovely late spring day, we had one of the first intensely hot and humid days of the year. It was definitely a bummer, but the ride was mostly in the shade of the woods and we had a great time!  most of the fences were 3' coops but we found a small log and this hay to jump haha Until we didn't. 😑 We brought along a third friend who rode Margaret's older mare, Ladyhawke. She's a good rider but hasn't known Ladyhawke for very long and didn't realize how much of a cranky boss mare she could be at times. She kicked Jester right in the front leg just about halfway through the ride, and while the cut itself ended up not being a big deal in the

2018 Equestrian Blogger Gift Exchange

This is the third year I have participated in the Equestrian Blogger Gift Exchange, hosted by Tracy at Printable Pony.  I love everything about Christmas (well, except the whole sn*w part...) especially choosing and wrapping a thoughtful gift for another.  Don't get me wrong, it is also fun to receive something fun from a blogger in the mail, too!  ;-)  I know how excited I feel when the box shows up on my doorstep, so I also love giving that feeling to a fellow horse lover!

I came home from my lesson barn's Christmas party on Saturday to a box at the door.  As I am waiting for a few last Christmas gifts to arrive, I didn't think much of it at first.  Then I realized WAIT, this is for ME! and happily tore into the box like a child haha.

Sarah at Three Chestnuts blog did a great job choosing some fun gifts!  Somehow I was not officially following her blog, so now I am!

I love the treats, both the bag of Meadow Mints and her own handmade pumpkin molasses treats she uses for her horse Subi's Equioxx!  I looked on her blog for the recipe but couldn't find it, but I will have to see if she will share, as both mares though these treats were AMAZING!  I can see why her boy Subi will now take his meds with these haha.  They are horse crack apparently, and they do smell yummy!

I also received a new pair of Noble Outfitters Peddies, which I LOVE so much!  These are a super cute pattern and will join my rotation of riding socks!  They are already washed and waiting in my sock drawer hahaha.

When I opened the Tiger's Tongue, I had to laugh.  I added this exact item to my latest Smartpak order early this month, and of course I found out the day after my order that it was out of stock; I decided to just leave it there for it to arrive "someday" haha.  It was slated to mail out this week, so I figured it wouldn't be that bad.  (Read my sad story about Smartpak recently).  The day before the gifts from Sarah arrived, I got an email from Smartpak saying they would not be in stock until January 16 hahaha.  So needless to say, I cancelled the SP order and now have one anyway thanks to Sarah!  Yay!!  It is like she could see into my SP orders and knew I was waiting for one.  I tested it out yesterday on Ellie's crusty winter coat (she likes to use her poop as a pillow recently ewww) and it works great!  I think it will become a super versatile addition to my grooming box.

And the last gift is a super fun blanket clasp belt!  Or maybe it is called a surcingle belt?  LOL I have been admiring these but haven't dared purchase one in case I didn't like it.  I have to say, this one is super cute and well made and I love it!  It will fit on some of my breeches with larger belt loops for sure.  I googled Hayley Horse Designs to no avail, but then after doing some reading of Sarah's blog to get to know her better, I realized SHE made it!  That is awesome!  You need an Etsy shop, girlfriend!

Thank you so much for the gifts, Sarah!  You did a great job and appreciate your thoughtfulness.  💕  And thank you to Tracy for hosting this again.  It is one of the highlights of the Christmas season to me, and I love reading everyone's thank you blog posts.

  1. I'm happy everything showed up (ahead of USPS's prediction!) and and that the girls liked the cookies! I'm going to make a new batch soon and I'll try and write down the recipe next time... It's half in my head.

As for the belts, I've sold a few and I've been debating an etsy store or something on my page, but I need time to work something out. So right now I'm just a cheap card stock logo.

    1. I would love the recipe if you think to write it down! I need to invest in the small silicone muffin pans to actually make my own treats, too. I understand opening an Etsy store can be daunting, so maybe just a spot on your blog?

    1. It is one of my favorite things to look forward to! I bought these treats once a year or so ago and they are awesome! Great little size. I haven't bought them recently only because they are not local to me, so this was great to be gifted!
